Care for Kids

At Living Hope and Open Arms, we reach out with love and support to several of our families who have encountered tremendous challenges and tremendous blessings through those challenges. Please join us in lifting up these children and families in prayer and check back often for updates on their journeys.

Amanda Boucher

Amanda Boucher

Diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes

Amanda Boucher, daughter of Jim and Kathy Boucher, was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes at age 5.  Her body no longer produces insulin and she requires daily insulin shots to stay alive. At the age of 7 she now wears an insulin pump and Continuous Glucose Monitor to give her body the daily insulin she requires, both research devices funded by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Amanda loves gymnastics, horses, swimming, her family and Jesus! She is an unbelievably brave, sweet and beautiful child. She is greatly loved by those who are blessed to be a part of her life, and all look forward to what God has in store for Amanda throughout her life!

You can join Living Hope and Open Arms in helping Amanda in her ongoing efforts to give back and raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation! Checks made be made payable to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and turned in to Joy Schubert at any time.

Cammie

Cameryn Jordan Saniatan

Lissencelphaly, which means “smooth brain.”

Cameryn Jordan Saniatan (Cammie), daughter of Ghazi and Courtney Saniatan, was born with a very rare condition, lissencelphaly, which means “smooth brain.” This condition causes Cammie to have continuous uncontrollable seizures and makes her development very delayed. At the age of 1, she cannot be fed by mouth and has a G tube inserted into her stomach. Due to the seizures, feeding tube and amounts of medicine Cammie takes, Ghazi stays at home to care for her while Courtney teaches at Open Arms, and a home health care nurse comes 4 days a week for 10 hours.

Ghazi and Courtney have unconditional love for Cammie and would do anything for her. They believe Cammie has taught them what is truly important in life. Cammie continues to fight each day and brings great joy to their lives and the lives of so many others.

You can join Living Hope and Open Arms in helping the Saniatan family at any time through your monetary gift.  Check back soon for more information on a fundraiser we will have on behalf of Cammie in February 2012!
